Make a choice....

A while back I gave a very modest amount of money to http://www.donorchoose.org/. It was such a small amount to me, I didn't give it a second thought after I hit the button .

Much to my surprise when I walked in the house from a long day at MediaSauce (and Super Suppers) to find an envelop from them in my mailbox. I almost pitched it, because I didn't remember even donating! But WOW, what follow up by this company. I received a nice letter from the Executive Director of Donor Choose and then 3 letters and pictures from the kids that I bought books for! (they are from a school in NY)

Myself and 2 other contributors received these great letters and I wanted to share with you a couple poems the kids wrote to us, the book they are reading is Iqbal, a story about children slave labor. If you are reading this, please make a choice today to give!

"Torture in the Factory"

Kneeling in the silent gloom
Working swiftly at the loom
Fingers blistered, fingers bleeding
All the colored strings receding
Torture in the Factory
It's for them, not for me
Jack

Weave in
Weave under
NEVER let your mind wander
for if you do
you'll hear the crack of the whip
and feel the pain of the sting
and you'll scream a scream that will ring
throughout the country
and into the next
but you'll NEVER know it's yours
because your mind will be fixed
on erasing your lines
and boarding that ship
and NEVER
EVER
looking back.
